No. The circuit is a commercial hire zone, so you don’t need a boat or jet ski licence, and you don’t need any experience either.

Before you head out, we’ll fit your life jacket and walk you through the controls on your Sea-Doo, including the throttle, steering and how to slow down. Take the first few laps easy until you feel comfortable, then build up speed at your own pace.

Yes, as passengers. Kids can ride from 7 years old, as long as they’re at least 125cm tall and sharing the jet ski with someone 18 or over.

To drive a jet ski on their own, riders need to be 16 or older. Riding on the back with a parent is a great way for younger kids to enjoy the speed, and older teens can take the controls once they turn 16.

Up to 3 people can share a jet ski on the circuit. If you double or triple up, one rider must be 18 or over, and every passenger needs to be at least 7 years old and 125cm tall.

You can swap drivers as often as you like during your hire, so everyone gets a turn. Keep in mind that more weight on board makes the jet ski a little slower, so if speed is the goal, two per ski is the way to go.

It’s the best place to start. The circuit is a marked zone set aside for hire jet skis, so you can focus on getting a feel for the throttle and turning rather than finding your way around the river.

Start slow, get used to how the jet ski responds, then pick up the pace when you’re ready. Once you’ve got the hang of it, a guided river tour or ocean tour is a great next step.

30 minutes is a good first taste of jet skiing. If you’re sharing a jet ski with a friend or one of the kids, 45 minutes or 1 hour gives everyone a decent turn at the controls.

If you’ve ridden before, the full hour is the better pick, because the time flies once you’re comfortable. It’s also worth thinking about energy levels: holding on and steering at speed is more of a workout than it looks, especially for younger riders.

Swimwear or clothes you don’t mind getting wet, because you will get wet, even on a calm day. Put sunscreen on before you arrive and bring sunglasses you’re happy to get splashed.

Leave phones, wallets and car keys in your car or with someone on shore, because anything you take on the jet ski can end up in the river. Life jackets are supplied for every rider.
