Noosa Ocean Jet Ski Tours

No. You don’t need a licence or any experience.

You’ll get a run through on how the jet ski works before you leave, and your guide stays with the group for the whole tour, including the bar crossing. The ocean does feel different to the river, with some swell and spray, so if you’d like to build a bit of confidence first, the river circuit or a guided river tour is a good warm up.

Conditions at the bar can change quickly, and safety always comes first.

If it’s too rough to cross safely, your tour runs on the Noosa River instead, so you still get a guided ride and your time on the water. The call is made on the day based on the conditions, which is part of what keeps the ocean tour safe for everyone in the group.

Humpback whales pass Noosa each winter and spring, and dolphins and turtles can be seen along the coast.

They’re wild animals, so we can’t promise a sighting on every tour, but keep your eyes on the water. Your guide will point out anything worth slowing down for, and seeing a whale or a pod of dolphins from the seat of a jet ski is something you won’t forget.

A maximum of 2 people per jet ski on the ocean tour. If you’re doubling, one person must be 18 or over, and passengers need to be at least 7 years old and 125cm tall.

The limit is lower than on the river circuit, where up to 3 can ride. Two people sharing can swap drivers along the way, so you can both have a turn at the controls.

The ocean tour is a 1 hour guided ride across the bar and along the Noosa National Park coastline to Granite Bay. The jet ski safari runs for 1.5 hours and adds a 15 minute beach stop on the Noosa North Shore with drinks and snacks, plus laps of the river circuit.

If you’re short on time and want the coastline, the ocean tour is the one. If you’d like a longer outing with a swim and a break in the middle, go for the safari.

You’ll get properly wet, especially crossing the bar, so wear swimwear or clothes you don’t mind soaking. Put sunscreen on before you arrive and bring a towel and a change of clothes for afterwards.

Leave phones, wallets and car keys in your car or with someone on shore, because the ocean isn’t kind to anything that goes overboard. Life jackets are supplied for every rider.
